As we stand beside the ocean tide,
may our love always be as constant and unchanging
as these never-ending waves that pour beneath our feet,
flowing endlessly from the depths of the sea;
your love came softly upon my heart,
just as the foam comes softly upon the sand,
and just as there will never be a morning
without the ocean's flow,
so there will never be a day
without my love for you.
I pledge myself to you this day.
Our love will be as unchanging
and dependable as the tide;
as these waters nourish the earth
and sustain life, may my constant devotion
nourish and sustain you
until the end of time.

This touching poem entitled "By the Seaside" embodies how enduring true love can be, and perfectly reflects the sentiments of celebrating a renewal of vows.

Why Renew Your Vows?

A vow renewal is a way to celebrate your marriage. When you've made it to a significant anniversary and you want the world to know that you'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. Or maybe you want to reaffirm your commitment to each other after a rough period in your relationship. You don't really need a reason to renew, just because you want to is reason enough.

Where Should It Be?

You can renew your vows in a church, at home, in a garden or park, on a mountain or on a cruise -- basically, anywhere that has sentimental meaning for both of you. What better destination than amidst a beautiful, idyllic setting by the sea?

Who Should You Invite?

Choose to have an intimate reaffirmation, inviting just close family and friends who've known you through the years, and have witnessed the ups and downs of your marriage.

What Should You Wear?

If you're the bride, you could wear your original wedding gown if you're comfortable with it. Or choose a pretty cocktail dress, a formal evening gown or a nice suit, depending on your taste and the formality and style of the celebration. Skip the veil, but wear a hat or flowers in your hair if you'd like. Don't forget to carry flowers.

If you're the groom, you might wear your original tuxedo or suit, updated with a new tie or vest. Or choose a new ensemble for this celebration. Wear a gift of jewellery your wife has given you, like cuff links or a watch. Put a boutonniere in your lapel.

Should You Have a Wedding Party?

Attendants are not always necessary for a vow renewal, but you might choose to invite your original bridesmaids and groomsmen to stand up for you for sentimental reasons. They don't have to wear the original outfits again, but it would be great if they could! Many couples also involve their children and grandchildren, perhaps being escorted down the aisle by them or having them perform a reading during the ceremony.

What Happens During the Ceremony?

You'll exchange vows, recalling what you said when you were first married. Or you could write new vows . This is an opportunity for both of you to really think about how you feel about your relationship, especially if the last time you exchanged vows was decades ago. After you've both spoken, exchange rings. These can be your original wedding bands with new engravings or new rings purchased particularly for the reaffirmation. Your children, close relatives and special friends can do the readings.

Should You Have a Reception?

Of course! The party can be any style, from a casual or an intimate family dinner to a cocktail party or a formal dinner as large and complex as a traditional wedding reception. There can be dancing and cake. Having a simple photo slideshow of your original wedding p pictures as well as family photos through the years of your marriage can really bring together the event. At some point during the celebration, the two of you can thank or toast family members and special friends for what they've contributed to your marriage over the years. This is also a chance for your family and friends to tell touching and embarrassing stories of your relationship. Be sure to hire a photographer to capture the event!

It's time again to worship the sun, dive into crystal blue waters, and stretch out on the warm sand of a gorgeous beach on your yearly hiatus from the city. But before you get there you've got to get your bags ready, of course.

Aside from the usual must-haves when vacationing on the beach-- sunscreen, swimsuit, flip flops, sunglasses, beach towels, and the like; we've listed here five items that are actually very essential and usually overlooked in all the excitement.

A Tote Bag or Daypack

Even if you don't plan on leaving the resort, chances are you will have to carry something at some point. Having a sturdy tote bag with a zipper or a daypack will allow you to easily carry everything you need and provide some protection to valuables while you walk around the beach.

Waterproof Camera

It's always great to look at photos of the places you've been to, the people you've met or traveled with, and all the adventures on those trips. A waterproof camera is an absolute essential to take along on your beach vacation. Use it to capture lasting memories, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, the ocean, colourful seashells washed up on the sand, and the smiles of fellow travelers as you share this wonderful experience together.

A Good Book or an Electronic Reader

To paraphrase a quote from George R.R. Martin, " A reader lives a thousand lives.", reading a good book is a vacation in itself. As we get older, work and other commitments take so much of our time and our favourite pastime is put aside. While on vacation, find a quiet, secluded spot on the beach with the soothing sound of crashing waves in the background. Relax and enjoy a good book while catching up on some much neglected reading.

Goggles and Snorkeling Equipment

Wearing goggles will keep your eyes from stinging and open up a whole underwater world for you. If you don’t go snorkeling often then you can just rent a set.  But if you do take beach vacations frequently, and you have room in your luggage, it will be more cost-effective and hygienic (you know that no one else has used them) to get a snorkel set.

A Scarf or Shawl

Scarves and shawls are not only a stylish accessory, but can be repurposed to serve many functions. It can become a light blanket, eye mask, or pillow while traveling. You can use the scarf as a head wrap to protect from the elements. It can also be used to protect delicate items and keep them extra padded in your bag. You can probably think up of more uses for them, the possibilities are endless.

There it is, the five essential items that vacationers usually overlook when packing for their beach vacation. We've summed them up for a worry-free and relaxing holiday.

But in case you forgot anything, the staff at Nabulao Beach Resort will be happy to assist you. The staff takes great pleasure in making your stay very comfortable that you wouldn't have any desire to leave at all! Their smiles are infectious, welcoming, and makes you feel like being at home with family.

It's easy to be pessimistic and roll your eyes at people who make resolutions at the turn of the new year, those optimistic souls who write lists and make plans to be better, healthier, and are hopeful that this year will be their year of great change.

At the risk of sounding like one who drank the Kool-Aid: why can't it? Haven't we all experienced a surreal moment when our perception of an event, a given situation, or a person significantly shifted in a single second? It happens every day and it influences how we experience life and interact with people.

The hardest part of a new venture is choosing to begin. It's incredibly easy to continue putting off positive change until tomorrow, or next week; after things settle down at school or work, or when you have more time. This is just your subconscious fighting the change. Enough of that.

"Don't try to change the world. First, change yourself or rather, your self-perception, and you find the world automatically corresponding to the level of your understanding. You will find that it has always been you who set the pace and depth of your experience by recognizing and honouring your true nature." — This quote from Mooji sums up how self discovery and understanding are the initial steps to self improvement.

This new year let's resolve to be one with nature and discover how much we love the beach. You might be asking why this as a new year's resolution? Well, let us list down the reasons.

  1. They find happiness in anything. Beach-lovers are people who appreciate the simple joys in life: beautiful views, the feel of the hot sun on their skin, a refreshing swim, a delicious meal, an afternoon with friends. They are the happiest people to be around because it’s so easy to make them happy.
  2. They crave adventures. People who love going to the beach aren’t the stay-home-and-watch-tv every night type. They want to go out and do something active. They would go on a road trip to nowhere. They are happier because they remember that everyday life should be fun.
  3. But they also know how to relax. Beach-lovers know the true pleasure of leisure isn’t wasting a day in bed, it’s lounging somewhere beautiful that reminds you how blessed you are.
  4. They know how to leave work at the office. The beach is a great place to truly unplug from your life because electronics don’t work that great in the sand and surf. A person who can stand to be unplugged from technology for a few hours is a much happier person than most people.
  5. They know when to let things slide. Beach people know that a little mess or discomfort is nothing to get frustrated or annoyed about. They don’t let the little things take away from their happiness.
  6. They know how to be grateful for the little things. There’s nothing fancy or trendy about a beach, it’s just beautiful, natural goodness. The happiest people are the ones who are thankful for having the opportunity to sit on a beach, enjoy a great sunset, and just live.

Take that road trip and discover yourself at gorgeous Nabulao Beach Resort. The resort is located along the coast of Hinoba-an and Sipalay in Southern Negros Occidental, Philippines. It takes you far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city but near enough for an experience worth every minute of your time.

Nabulao Beach Resort Food Bundles

Eat Well. Travel Often.

When booking a vacation, the two main questions are "Where do I want to go?" and "What do I want to do when I get there?" The majority of vacation destinations are chosen based on landmark, history, scenery, festivals, and activities.

There is, however a growing trend that places food as the reason and highlight for travel. Vacations based around dining are becoming more and more frequent, referred to now as food tourism.

Many travelers can picture themselves sitting by the sea, their toes lightly buried in the sand, the warm summer breeze ruffling their hair. The spectrum of light that glitters on the water as the sun sets on the horizon. The breaking of the waves their music that sets the mood, and the smell of salt in the air assure these travelers that they are a part of something that will remain in their memories forever.

Great Team Buildings at Nabulao Beach Resort

It cannot be stressed highly enough how important a great team is to a company's success. The effort and quality of work they put in reflects their contentment in their jobs and their leader. Team building activities are essential when it comes to motivating and keeping a great team happy that they thrive in your enterprise.

To many manager's dismay, putting together a team building event can be a daunting task. Too often, managers come up with activities that are haphazardly planned and awkward, with all the participants wishing it would just end. Or they just give up on the idea of team building and plan a company outing instead; a nice break from the business, but in essence inadequate to the goal of unifying the team.

Beach destinations are an ideal setting for team building activities. It's far removed from distractions, the team can enjoy the sun, sand and sea, get much needed exercise, unwind from daily stress, and participate in entertaining and fun challenges that engages their creativity, ingenuity, and communication skills.

Chunks of pork seared at a high temperature to lock in the flavor, simmered in a soup made sour by batwan until it is so tender that it melts in your mouth, and then a generous helping of vegetables are added to balance the dish. Batwan or Batuan is a fruit that differentiates Negros cuisine from others, batwan to Ilonggos is what tamarind is to Tagalogs.

Next stop is choosing the side dish. Nabulao Specials give you a choice between Nabulao Salad or Pancit Canton.

Nabulao Salad is a generous serving of shredded crisp lettuce, crabmeat, fresh sweet mango and vinaigrette dressing. Healthy combination of sea and earth goodness in one colorful dish.

Pancit Canton is the Filipino version of Chow Mien. It's a noodle dish cooked with slices of pork, shrimp, and tossed in with lots of crisp vegetables. It's festive and tasty! It's a long held tradition to serve it on birthdays and special occasions to symbolize long life - that's more time to enjoy delicious meals!

Now on to the main event! Nabulao Specials give you two choices for the main course, the selections are Garlic and Butter Shrimp, Pork Sisig, Grilled Liempo, Beef Salpicao, Lechon Kawali, and Sizzling Bulalo.

Garlic and Butter Shrimp is a simple and tasty dish celebrating the freshness of shrimp, sautéed in butter with lots of garlic, and with a splash of lemon soda to enhance the sweetness of fresh shrimp and make it slightly sticky - finger licking goodness to add another dimension to the experience!

Pork Sisig is a dish well-loved by everyone! It is enjoyed as an appetizer, as a pulutan, and as a main dish. In 2009, culinary expert, chef and "No Reservations" host Anthony Bourdain hailed sisig as "a divine mosaic of pig parts.", and "as one of the world's best beer-drinking dishes." He ranked the Philippines as number one in his "Hierarchy of Pork." Pork Sisig is composed of chopped pig parts, generous amounts of chicken liver, pig brain as binder, lots of onions, topped eggs and siling labuyo.

Grilled Liempo is a dish that needs no introduction, it is that popular! It is generous serving of pork belly cuts, a proportionate amount of fat and meat,  marinated then grilled to tender and juicy perfection! Served with a sawsawan of calamansi, soy sauce, sinamak, and optional siling labuyo.

Beef Salpicao is a dish composed of chunks of choice beef, lots of minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, and soy sauce. It is a hit even as a pulutan!

Lechon Kawali is another well-loved artery clogging piece of heaven! This boiled and deep-fried pork belly is perhaps the best example of just how well we know how to cook pork. The outside is salty and extra crispy, while the inside is tender and moist with fat and juicy meat. Served with a sawsawan of soy sauce, vinegar, chopped onions and optional siling labuyo.

Sizzling Bulalo is twice cooked beef shanks and bone marrows first boiled until tender then grilled and served on a hot sizzling plate and covered in a generous helping of rich mushroom gravy.
